Pug Portraits - "Blondie"

Last Saturday when I was selling prints at Cultus Lake Market In The Park a young woman was looking through my portfolio and asked me how much it would cost for a photoshoot with me. I explained to her my costs and what they included but when I told her my price a look came upon her face that was listening but had already decided it was too expensive and not going to work. This surprised me because I'm fairly new in the business my prices are much lower than other photographers I know and so shouldn't be very surprising. It was then that I noticed that her hand was resting on the page in my portfolio that had pictures of animals - mainly my families dogs, cat and parrot - so I said "We are talking about photos of people right?" She said "No...I want pictures of my Pug." I still laugh thinking back on all the thoughts that went through my mind at that moment. So on the spot I ammended my prices and how many images were included and arranged to take pictures of her beloved Pug "Blondie" later that evening. A job is a job at this moment and I don't think there's any shame in photographing a persons pet. Animals make some of the best models! Blondie was definitely a character which comes through in many of the photos. Thank you to 'J' for hiring me to take photos of Blondie. I greatly enjoyed my time with her and the challenge of taking photos of her that would capture her personality.

Haha! Are you sure it's not the "snorting" sound that constantly comes out of that squished up nose???
