Exciting Draw Giveaway for Photogaphers

I have recently in the last few months come across Florabella Collection Actions and textures by Shana Rae and have totally fallen in love with them not to mention been learning A LOT about Photoshop through my desire to use them and use them well. It's been awesome! And I must say that I love some of the affects that they've had on some of my photos. I'll post a few of my recent examples below. It's become a habit of mine to check the Florabella Facebook Page daily to see the images that people post and seeing the amazing photos that photographers are posting there inspires me daily. I've realized in this last year (as I've been intentionally teaching myself how to use different post-processing software such as Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop CS5 and OnOne Software) that the art of photography has completely changed in the last 10 years. 10 years ago I was still using a film camera and not all that much because as a struggling student who was coaching swim club part-time, finances didn't allow me to experiment too much with my passion for photography. BUT....today....in the day and age when literally everyone has a digital camera (whether on their phone or ipod OR a point and shoot or DSLR) although you need to have the skill and talent/EYE for creating attractive images a huge portion of the art form comes in the way of post processing these days - EVEN for the minimalists out there that use as little of Photoshop etc as possible. I LOVE the post processing part almost as much as I do the actually shooting these days. I have the ability to take an image that I'm not all that impressed with SOOC and transform it into an image that I adore with the click of a few buttons. It's FUN!

Anyways, the reason I started this post is that there's a really cool giveaway going on from Florabella as well as another photographer, Skye Hardwick of Work of Heart Photography which I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to win and through linking them in a post I get an entry in the draw - so I figure it's worth a try right? I admire both of these photographers work with kids and they've really inspired me in things to try with my photographs of children so thank you to both of them for that. On Skye Hardwick's blog/website Soulographer she has a workshop workbook for sale that looks pretty amazing and I'm excited to get my hands on it even if I don't win this draw. lol. I'm learning tons and loving it! Please check out both of their stuff if you like what you read/see here.

Blessings
Nicole

C&S - FriendZ 4Ever!

On Friday afternoon I took a break from helping set up for a girls conference I was serving at this weekend to escape off with these 2 characters! We had a great time doing a fun photoshoot and capturing some fun moments between these two long time friends. 'C' organized the photoshoot with me a few weeks ago wanting to surprise 'S' - a very sweet gesture and fun way to celebrate 'S's last day of school. I LOVE the shots that came out of this photoshoot with these two - Check back to my FB Page later on to see more. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Nicole-Watts-Photography/125918994101071?ref=ts

Images Around North Delta

I was hired to take pictures around North Delta for a church website so I spent Saturday exploring my own community for pictures that define it. Here are a few of my faves.

Little Miss 'R' Photoshoot - 'More Precious Than Rubies!'

Little Miss R was gorgeous in her little "cake" dress EVEN THOUGH she refused to smile for the camera - she still made for some adorable pictures! Loved hanging out with her and her mom for a few hours today.

Prov 3:15 "She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her."

Fofonove Family Shoot - Thankful for the Sun!

Enjoyed spending some time with this beautiful and energetic young family today getting some adorable shots of both the family together and the kids individually. Here is a teaser. More to come!

"I Liked The Kissing Part!"

D&D were my second engagement shoot today and so fun to work with. They were cute and natural in their PDA's and made it really easy to capture their obvious love for each other on film. This is a teaser of our shoot which concluded with the male of half of the D's expressing his thanks again and saying "I liked the kissing part the best." ;)

J&A Engagement Shoot - "Let's Play!"

This is a sneak peak of an engagment shoot I did with J&A this afternoon. They brought new meaning to the word playful in the context of romance. Had lots of fun watching them 'play' from behind the lens!

Photoshoot with Lil' Miss J and Lil' Miss K

Had the opportunity to take some pics of two beautiful little girls this afternoon. I wanted some images to specifically work with my Florabella Actions (www.florabellacollection.com) I purchased a few weeks ago and we got some great shots for that this afternoon. I was reminded this afternoon by these two cuties that when photographing kids you've gotta get in and get out and hope that you got a few nice shots in the short amount of time their attention span can last. Loved it and had lots of fun! Here are some teasers from our afternoon.
